New Delhi: On Thursday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the highly-anticipated schedule for the TATA Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025. The third season of this prestigious global women’s T20 competition will be held in four major cities—Baroda, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Mumbai—showcasing an exciting array of T20 matches. The tournament is set to kick off on February 14 at the state-of-the-art BCA Stadium in Baroda, where the Gujarat Giants (GG) will take on the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), in what promises to be a thrilling opening match.
Baroda will be the host for six matches before the action moves to Bengaluru, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will face the Mumbai Indians (MI), the champions of the inaugural WPL, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on February 21 for their first home game.
RCB will have three more chances to engage their local fans as they take on UP Warriorz (UPW) on February 24, Gujarat Giants (GG) on February 27, and Delhi Capitals (DC) on March 1. Adding to the excitement, Lucknow will debut as a WPL venue this season, with UPW playing three of their matches on home soil starting March 3.
The final phase of the tournament will take place in Mumbai, with the Cricket Club of India (CCI) hosting the last two league matches and the highly anticipated Playoff games. Mumbai Indians will wrap up the league stage with back-to-back home games against Gujarat Giants and RCB on March 10 and 11, respectively.
The race for dominance will culminate in the playoffs, with the top team securing an automatic spot in the final. The teams finishing second and third will face off in a high-stakes Eliminator on Thursday, 13th March, for a chance to advance to the championship match. The grand finale for the coveted title is set for Saturday, 15th March.
Maintaining the format from the previous year, every match in the third edition will be a single-header.
