New Delhi: As the IPL 2025 mega auction approaches, all 10 teams are gearing up to name their retained players. While no team has officially announced their retained players yet, reports suggest that Delhi Capitals is planning to retain only 3 players in its squad. According to a PTI report, Delhi Capitals will be retaining three Indian players, excluding veteran players like Warner and Mitchell Marsh. Rishabh Pant will be retained:

Delhi Capitals will first retain captain Rishabh Pant. Team owner Parth Jindal has already said this. Pant will be retained first, meaning this player will get Rs 18 crore. Pant has been captaining the team since 2021 and has contributed well to the team as a captain and batsman. Also, Pant’s brand value is also very high, so the Delhi team will retain this player first.

Axar Patel’s second number to get retained:

According to the PTI report, Delhi Capitals will retain all-rounder Axar Patel at number two. Being retained at number two means that this player will be given Rs 14 crore per season. Axar Patel has been batting brilliantly for the last 3 seasons. His batting average in 2022 was more than 45. His average in 2023 and 2024 was around 30.
